Back from Mumbai....
Dear friends,
My apologies for the lack of correspondence over the last week as I have been away on vacation and unable to access the bubble.
I know a few of you are aware that I was visiting my wife in India who has been working there for the past month. Unfortunately we were staying in Mumbai at the Oberoi which is one of the hotels that was attacked. A decision to go out for dinner on Wednesday night probably saved our lives but we are trying not to think about that too much.
Being so close to such an event really brings home what’s important in life.
Just wanted you to know we are safe and back home.

Hi ya Lu,
I reckon that prayer played a part in getting us home, a big thank you from us both. We are still trying to find out if our belongings that are in the hotel room are retrievable, we came back to the UK with just the clothes we were wearing for dinner on wednesday evening and had to travel on emergency passports. I’m not holding up much hope for my camera equipment, it is all replaceable though and dosen’t bare thinking about.
Super job on the december challenge, great idea for the subject matter.
Thanks again Lu,

Oh geeezzz! So glad you made it out – I cannot imagine experiencing something like that…
Nicholas Averre replied
Cheers Mark I really appreciate that.
I really hope there will be no more blood shed as as result of these attacks but given the scale of it all the fear is there may well be before things settle down in India or Pakistan.

Hi Nicholas,
First of all, very nice to meet you on this site. And thank you for leaving a comment on my page. I am so glad to read that you and your wife are safe. Mumbai seems to be a favourite target for terrorists and our government just needs to massive reality check to prevent further such attacks. It was horrifying for me to watch on television, so I can only imagine what both of you went through.
Take care
Sanchita
