Made from a myriad number of hand-dyed fabrics and batiks, this one is “home” for me. I went thru my entire fabric collection one weekend and pulled everything that reminded me of what I loved about Arizona and then quilted my memories onto them. Spectacular sunsets, meandering layers of mesas that rise from the desert, the towering saguaro cactus from our front yard and yes, even the geckos are present and accounted for…Quilted from Indonesian batiks, hand-dyed cottons, and organza, metallic and rayon embroidery threads.
So the word in our household is that if something holds still long enough… I’ll start stitching on it. Guilty. Like a crow spotting treasure; rocks, shiny jewelry & ?? end up stitched, glued, or otherwise attached to my fabrics. I can’t help it. I’m a material girl. :-) These are photographs of my fabric foolishness; fiber art, embroidery, & quilts of all types. My studio motto is “Let the fabric fly”… these photos are my invitation for you to join me on the flight!
