Wait Upon the Lord (Sunset in Nicaragua) Detail II by

Detail of full quilt inspired by a photograph taken by a youth group member from oh, so long ago. When did he grow up??? He wanted a sunset photo but wasn’t waiting long enough. A native man told him to wait 5 minutes…be patient… The Lord gave him this. This simple wall quilt is made from wool batting; six layers stitched atop a cotton base and bound with black batik fabric. Can be hung either way; for sunset or sunrise. Simply move hanging sleeve. Original photo by Rob Miller

So the word in our household is that if something holds still long enough… I’ll start stitching on it. Guilty. Like a crow spotting treasure; rocks, shiny jewelry & ?? end up stitched, glued, or otherwise attached to my fabrics. I can’t help it. I’m a material girl. :-) These are photographs of my fabric foolishness; fiber art, embroidery, & quilts of all types. My studio motto is “Let the fabric fly”… these photos are my invitation for you to join me on the flight!
