Baggage

I caught this little guy this morning. He has a burr of some sort caught in his wing but it didn’t deter him from mating. Any help with identification? Durban, South Africa.

Baggage belongs to the following groups:

Animal Kingdom, Butterflies, Skippers, Moths, & Other Winged Insects and Damselflies - (Zygoptera)

Wow! Stunning capture! Looks like some kind of dragonfly, sometimes called darning needles, but I’ve never been to South Africa, so would not know.

Thanks, Carolyn. It’s one of the many damselfly species. We get lots here. The stream in our garden attracts them. They are really beautiful.
