About these images:
To create this work, my camera has become an electronic sketch-pad, documenting light’s interaction with sound, its movement to music an essential component of the process.

My focus is upon exploring what cannot be seen, the space where light and sound become one, where light responds to sound, and sound to light. Conceived as ‘painted light’, each image begins life as a photographic still, of nocturnal light, captured in settings resonant with intense beat-driven soundscapes.

The finished works reflect journeys into a plethora of disparate visual environments … above and below the oceans, from the microscopic to the panoramic, through history’s bricks and mortar, and back again, to the frenetic point where light and sound merge in a cacophony of beats and bodies …

About me:
I am a visual artist and photographer with a strong professional background in public health. I’m particularly interested in the creative use and interpretation of light, both in the built environment and in nature.

One of my driving philosophies is that my art should make a difference to people in need both directly, through donation from the proceeds and indirectly through sensitive use of publicity and media opportunities.

In keeping with this philosophy, proceeds from my artwork have been directed to the following organisations:
The Burnet Institute’s Centre for International Health
Medical Association for Prevention of War
Red Cross Appeal for Timor Leste
Hands On Disaster Response

Exhibitions and Publications:
My work has been exhibited in a range of settings in Australia and Canada, including galleries, restaurants, nightclubs and festivals, as printed images and also as light projections.

A number of these images have also been released as art cards retailed through selected galleries and related businesses, including the Monash Gallery of Art in Wheelers Hill, Victoria’s major public collector of photographic art.

Represented by: Gallery 112 (Melbourne),
Image Licensing: managed via Viscopy and their associated international affiliates
