WHAT DID I GET INTO by

Young Black-crown Night Heron tries out his wings on the Susquehanna near Harrisburg. They look like one of the first planes just flapping away until they lift off and scare themselves. Landing on a small branch creates another problem, flap or fall. When young they look like something from the dinasaur time. Like all kids can be curious and come close enough to get a great shot.

Great work Dennis! I’m so jealous….I want to retire too so I can take pics all day!!!!!!! I started playing the lottery!

  • Some of your best work is on the way to work. Who takes pictures all day? Early morning and late after noon and you got that covered with a paycheck.

He looks prehistoric. We have blue herons around this part of Pa, but I’ve never saw anything like this one! Thanks for sharing, great shot!
