“Silently a flower blooms,
In silence it falls away;
Yet here now, at this moment, at this place,
The world of the flower, the whole of
the world is blooming.
This is the talk of the flower, the truth
of the blossom:
The glory of eternal life is fully shining here
." Z.Shibayama

This Flower arrangement I made (did six of them), to decorate my Thanksgiving table from a long ago How-To Arrange Flowers book on the subject I found at the library, then I painted one of them….Watercolour on Linen fabric

flowers, fall, autumn, season, watercolour, janis zroback, vase of flowers

I paint in many different styles and feature a myriad of subject matter, which I show as individual collections….
I am inspired by the world interpreting it in brilliant colours, often influenced by the writings of famous authors and poets..

i know I have done that too. but I do like it. I also thought Farewell?? You better not be going anywhere. :)) xx

  • No that was was my working title…I give all paintings a working title, which I sometimes change…now it’s called The Arrangement…as it was an arrangement I found in a How To book on flower arranging, and did for Thanksgiving…the kind you put in several bud vases, and wire to keep the shape…because it was the last of the flowers, I called it farewell..
Actually it’s ironic that that you asked me that, because lately I have become so disheartened at the disappearance of the community, I have been considering moving on…

  • Nothing to do with the site itself, but the fact that everyone seems to be spending less and less time here…I found it discouraging…

I know, I have seen it too, but I hope you weather it . . . . whenever they make this big changes people drop off. I try to love and support my circle here . . . I had some other things that have pulled me awy from here myself. xx

  • I am weathering it I hope…doing my best to pull us together again…thanks again….

And in silence it falls away… Love that while the yellow one is already fading into the blends of colours in the background, the red one is still trying to emerge like it is coming out of the painting. Beautiful work Janis.

  • Thank you so much for the lovely compliment MuiLing….very nice of you…
