I painted this scene with the apples blending into the “landscape”, and yet vibrating with movement…..almost falling out of the canvas.

The Yeats lines echo this edginess, as the protagonist in his search for the beloved, restlessly travels through the landscape….

When I found this poem, I felt like I’d won the lottery, for as usual I searched for appropriate lines after the painting had been completed….unbelievably, it did not take very long. I believe there must be a poem for every situation under the sun. If I can’t find one, I write it myself.
