We were born before the wind
Also younger than the sun
Ere the bonnie boat was won as we sailed into the mystic
Hark, now hear the sailors cry
Smell the sea and feel the sky
Let your soul and spirit fly into the mystic
And when that fog horn blows I will be coming home
And when the fog horn blows I want to hear it
I don’t have to fear it
And I want to rock your gypsy soul
Just like way back in the days of old
And magnificently we will flow into the mystic
When that fog horn blows you know I will be coming home
And when that fog horn whistle blows I got to hear it
I don’t have to fear it
And I want to rock your gypsy soul
Just like way back in the days of old
And together we will flow into the mystic
Come on girl…
Too late to stop now
…Van Morrison

Music

Although this is a part of the Conference collection (see the others below), and the birds are flying in response to the call, it also stands on it’s own…the music is by one of my favourite singers and evokes the flight into the mystic…a dreamland…dedicated to all those lovers out there…Watercolour on Arches CP Paper..

I paint in many different styles and feature a myriad of subject matter, which I show as individual collections….
I am inspired by the world interpreting it in brilliant colours, often influenced by the writings of famous authors and poets..

Very lovely image and writing to go with it. Especially this bit:

Smell the sea and feel the sky
Let your soul and spirit fly into the mystic

The sky maybe physically blue but is we use all our sense; smelling the air, feeling and hearing the wind; there is so much more to it. In other senses, other than seeing, it would feel ‘colourful’…

  • It’s a beautiful song…have loved it forever, and when I was painting this the words rang in my head right through to the end..even though this is part of the Conference, it, like the others stands on it’s own…glad you like it…thanks so much MuiLing…
