Obeisance to the rising sun,
Rituals performed at chill dawn.
Burst of crackers,
Twilight sky illuminated,
Earthen lamps lit,
Fragrance in the atmosphere.
The wait ended,
As the sun appeared on the horizon,
The devotees offered their oblation.Excerpt G.B.Sarma
One of the great things about winter is being able to see everything around you in clear focus…the shapes of trees, their branches silhouetted against the sky, but most of all the sun, moon, and stars in all their glory…today however, a dense fog covers the city and I can’t see much, especially the high rises behind my house…oh good I thought…I am alone with my obeisance to the rising sun…Toronto, Ontario, Canada..
