People say the setting sun marks the edge of the sky,
I look towards the edge of the sky, but cannot see my home.
Now I hate the blue mountain which parts us from each other,
The blue mountain still is covered by evening cloud…LiBai
As the year draws to a close a feeling of melancholy permeates the air…winter’s cold sets in and a killing frost comes overnight…through the branches of the old apple tree the hills seem suspended in the milky sunset…

I love this one so much Janis……I had wanted to tell you that I REALLY wanted to do your piece in the last workshop. But I had not time at all for painting. I hate when I can’t paint. It just aches. But you are in the show and with several lovely translations. So glad to see.
This has such a wonderful feel of chill, as if the grasses have deep frost and are reaching out to find the sun. Wonderful color amidst all that gray.
