Jasmine paced up and down all night long…the two pictures were perched on an armchair facing the window where she could see them from any vantage point in the room and see outside at the same time…the story continues HERE
“_The Grey Lady” is part three of Jasmine’s story and was drawn in Conte, Carbon and Pastel Pencil on Canson Montval Acrilico Paper_
Those of you who enjoyed The Poppy Journals would be glad to know that I’ve started another serial based on this portrait and the ones below…see my writing pages for the rest of the story…click the link above…

Beautiful work Janis!
I must confess..this picture above immediately took me to Drew Barrymore and her eyes and nose..
I will take that as a compliment…i have not seen much of her lately but one of her movies was recently rerun on t.v…..i may have had her in my subsconcious….my husband says this one looks like Diana Krall…the first image below “Contemplation” was the one I adapted and changed each time….the next one coming up looks different again…thanks so much Marian…

Lovely image Janis! This and the contemplation one are my favorites of the sequence so far. This one has a slightly older look to it than the others. Maybe it is the grey? I like the softness as well. Story good – commented there. :-)
Thank you so much Cathy….yes she is meant to be a bit older than the others, with Jasmine being the youngest…so far….glad you are enjoying the story too….more of both later on today….or even this morning….

Janis, I thought the same as Marian. Thant iot was a Drew Barrymore portrait.
Whether you meant it to be or not, it’s still a great soulful ‘grey’ lady!
Lovely portrait.
Helette
Actually looking like Drew is a total accident…my husband insists she looks like Diana Krall, so it’s all in the eye of the beholder I guess…
They are all the same basic drawing that I modify each time….see the first one, Contemplation….I added or took away expression lines etc for the others and made them more real….The Grey Lady is older than the others, with Jasmine herself being the youngest….thank you so much for the lovely compliment….you can find them all illustrating the mystery story The Inheritance in my writing pages…

manifique….bravo…the hair is perfect, the gesture divine. Janis are you involed at all in the Toronto Film Festival?
Thank you so much Joseph….lovely of you to say so…
No, other than attending one or two movies, I’m not involved….I wish I were….it’s an exciting event…a friends daughter is very involved as she runs a PR company, but that’s about it….
