I don’t like bugs…they bite…they sting…but as a gardener I have to live with them…bees love Echinacea, especially this deep pink Purpurea…they hover, they sip….it’s obviously delicious….when I am watering the garden I chase them away, knowing they’ll return as soon as I move to another plant….this was a persistent bee…it wouldn’t move even when I came right up to it…it just kept on drinking away

Give and Take…
For to the bee a flower is a fountain of life
And to the flower a bee is a messenger of love
And to both, bee and flower,
the giving and the receiving is a need and an ecstasy

Very special, Janis. The colors are so alive and in perfect harmony. I suppose you took a picture and copied it or did it from sketch? Amazing any ways.

  • I paint from imagination because I find photos tend to flatten images and also cause too much of a literal interpretation….however the flowers are right outside my door if I need to check details…thank you so much…I’m thrilled that you like it….

gorgeous may think this weird but I was so tempted to add a bee to my Flower pastel…but did not know where to put it :-) now I see it has landed in your beautiful painting ……a stunner indeed!

  • I am going crazy about my Coneflowers, and my neighbor grows them too…the one I did yesterday are the same that she grows in her garden…I have already done six and plan to do more, if the bees let me…they buzz around me while I’m watering the flowers…thanks so much Linda…glad you like it…
