In the mountains it’s cold.
Always been cold, not just this year.
Jagged scarps forever snowed in
Woods in the dark ravines spitting mist.
Grass is still sprouting at the end of June,
Leaves begin to fall in early August.
And here I am, high on mountains,
Peering and peering, but I can’t even see the sky

    I Love you eastern inspired art Janis, Han Shan is a favourite poet of mine and I have several books of his translated poetry.

  • Although I have been painting the Cold Mountain for quite a long time, I just discovered Hanshan…before this I read other poets on the same topic…Cold Mountain is going to be the focus of a number of my new paintings…glad you like it…thank you so much….
