Nothing is more loved than bamboo.
Tragedy is a form of excess.
Natural forms of excess, blooms, in a species inevitably lead to its doom.
Many bamboos bloom only once a lifetime: flower, fruit, seed, die.
Entire stands have undergone these changes as one.
Scientists cannot tell what triggers loyalty.
I am not loved like this.
In the end, seed drifts may be ankle deep
excerpt ..D Snyder

Heat and old bamboo….part of everyday life in the tropics…this painting evokes the bamboo fire theory where bamboos cause their own fires in order to weed out the old and make room for the new growth…although the theory is disputed, I think it makes for romantic ideas about the fastest growing grass in the word..part of the Tropics collection…

Bamboo Night

Down Amongst the Sugar Cane

I paint in many different styles and feature a myriad of subject matter, which I show as individual collections….
I am inspired by the world interpreting it in brilliant colours, often influenced by the writings of famous authors and poets..
