In music a fantaisie is a free composition structured according to the composer’s fancy…this landscape like most of the others in the current collection, is based on remembered scenes and places in my life…but what really interests me in this particular series, is taking a scene and reducing down to certain basic elements…for me that means colour…colour to interpret mood, emotion, feelings…
You can call my artistic journey so far as a fantaisie on a larger scale…I enjoy reinventing and reimagining my work…however moving through my many series and collections, one thing stands out that unites them all…colour…it was there from the very start…in revisiting the work it is clear that there has not been too much divagation after all…
I am quite excited about this series…keeping the passion alive by constantly moving forward is supremely important

Watercolour on Arches HP Paper

Reducing everything to it’s essence, gets to the very heart of the subject matter…it’s the artists vision after all…how he/she sees the world…for me it’s the promise that distance holds and the journey to get there.

I paint in many different styles and feature a myriad of subject matter, which I show as individual collections….
I am inspired by the world interpreting it in brilliant colours, often influenced by the writings of famous authors and poets..
