Chopin’s Raindrops Prelude inspired this piece and I painted it while we were being deluged with rain over the past few days….but I made it summer time instead of almost spring which we are experiencing right now…somehow a summer shower is gentler and can be quite lovely to walk in…contours are softened, the colours blend and seem to grow brighter after the rain…

A slight rain comes, bathed in dawn light.
I hear it among tree top leaves before mist arrives.
Soon it sprinkles the soil and,
windblown, follows clouds away.
Deepened, colors grace thatch homes for a moment.
Flocks and herds of things wild glisten faintly.
Then the scent of musk opens across
Half a mountain — and lingers on past noon.Tu Fu
