The latest additon to the Everyday Things Collection is “Still Life with Picture Wire” ….this series is very personal to me in that they represent objects and tools, that are part of my life…I remember being told long ago by an art expert, that it is best to paint what you know, and I feel that the things I use, not only contribute to the quality of my life but have an intrisic beauty of their own… Mighty Leaf teabags are so pretty even when used…all that stitching and silky mesh
Astonishingly, I just found out a couple of days ago from Mingtees, about a world famous artist who has painted the very same everyday things that I do…‘How wonderful" I thought…most of those pieces were done some time ago and I am very curious to see how he did them…his newest works on exhibit at the Pace Gallery now include the real tools actually hanging from the canvas…it proves to me that we certainly don’t work in a vacuum…there are probably many other artists around the world who feel the same way as I do and paint the same things…

I paint in many different styles and feature a myriad of subject matter, which I show as individual collections….
I am inspired by the world interpreting it in brilliant colours, often influenced by the writings of famous authors and poets..

You are good whatever you paint, aren’t you!!!!!!!!! Awesome job! xoxox
I am so happy to be painting exactly what I want to paint…for so long I painted only commissioned work and got into the habit of doing traditional subjects…it is a feeling of freedom to do what you were meant to do…and it’s exciting to know I am in good company…thank you so much Dana…

Nice! reminds me of something I did years ago with trash.

so beautifully painted. You are tapping into a wonderful tradition of painting everyday objects and the fact that you paint them so well and with such style of your own is what makes these so beautiful and personal
What a lovely compliment John!!…as I indicated in my other reply, I have taken a circuitous route through the last few years while I experimented with other styles and subject matter…I am finally ready to settle to what I like best to paint and what is truly a reflection of my own life…I don’t know where this is taking me, but I am excited to find out…thank you so much…
