Pears...Marooned by ©Janis Zroback

*"Marooned" is another collaboration with DiEtte Henderson and is based on her sepia toned photo Two and a Half *

I chose to do the painting in Acrylic on Canvas, but in the spirit of an oil painting and made them Red Pears instead of Bosc…I titled it “Marooned” as that is the feeling that emerged as I was in the process of creating the work…the three pears huddled together in a sea of warm hues

Dawn is beyond what I face today
I stretch, as his land, to the sun.
My journey is long, but I rise for the day,
as another attempt is begun,
Where will I be when the moon lights my way,
when the chapter I travel is done
? Mark Stellings.

I paint in many different styles and feature a myriad of subject matter, which I show as individual collections….
I am inspired by the world interpreting it in brilliant colours, often influenced by the writings of famous authors and poets..

acrylics this time Janis…you use them just as perfectly as the watercolours ….painted beautifully and the shadows and colouring compliment each the way you have arranged the half cut pear to contrast with the darker colours ….

  • Yes somehow the photo said acrylics to me when I first looked at it…. there is another version of the photo though, that I think I would do in watercolor just for contrast..
I’m so thrilled that you like it, as I think it’s going to be a favorite of mine… in fact instead of putting it up for sale, I’m going to have it framed and hung in one of my rooms which it matches perfectly….
    Thank you so much Linda
