The Journey..On The Way To Somewhere.. by

On the Way to Somewhere is part of a collection of semi abstract watercolours on a single cut of MDF… it’s a journey that may be illusory, only in the mind of the artist, it may be real, or just a journey through life…as one painting appears, the previous one becomes submerged…in life we can never really go back to yesterday …see the others in the collection below…click on each to view the enlarged image..

We were not certain, but we were on the way to somewhere..
The mountains in the distance seem to hold everything in shadow..
Where we were, was a field of poppies, but there was snow in the hedgerows..
Beyond were fields and yet more fields, then what appeared to be a ridge of smaller hills hidden by a block of dense trees…
Behind us the lands fell away to nothingness
..J. Zroback

Winter whispered softly as we turned our way homewards…
Why is it so dark you asked, scarcely daring to breathe…
I didn’t answer, but clasped you closer to my heart,
As snowflakes hung suspended in the deep blue night

Thou greatest Keeper of Secrets,
Most elusive, consummate Illusionist,
Riddlester non-pareil, Mazemaster,
Supreme Criptician -
From whom do You hide,
everywhere and nowhere?
For whom do You wait?
Who else?
Only the ocean can know the ocean

I paint in many different styles and feature a myriad of subject matter, which I show as individual collections….
I am inspired by the world interpreting it in brilliant colours, often influenced by the writings of famous authors and poets..

gorgeous! Lovely colors, i love this series.

  • Thanks so much Amy…because it tells a story, I’m hoping to be able to paint right through to the end of the series without breaking it with other work…hard for me as I get these ideas along the way for other collections, and I find it hard not to stop everything and paint something totally different.. :))
