Let the place of the solitaires
Be a place of perpetual undulation

Whether it be in mid-sea
On the dark, green water-wheel,
Or on the beaches,
There must be no cessation
Of motion, or of the noise of motion,
The renewal of noise
And manifold continuation;
And, most, of the motion of thought
And its restless iteration

In the place of the solitaires,
Which is to be a place of perpetual undulation
…Wallace Stevens

To Wallace Stevens, the world was a river, to a fisherman a river simply evokes fish, even in winter…the solitariness of the sport strangely enough is a metaphor for his words…there is “no cessation of motion”, and the continual whip back and forth reflecting the “motion of thought”, are that Stevens desires for the earth

Watercolour on Arches Not Paper…

I paint in many different styles and feature a myriad of subject matter, which I show as individual collections….
I am inspired by the world interpreting it in brilliant colours, often influenced by the writings of famous authors and poets..
