Well the holidays are finally over and it’s time to get back to that artist’s nightmare…marketing..
You’ve redone the profile page, figured out your audience, and think you’re all set, but how much do you actually know about what goes on in your Redbubble gallery?…
For example, do you know how many visitors you get on a daily basis, how long they stay, and how many images they view?
I don’t know about you but I find that kind of information incredibly valuable from a marketing standpoint, as well as curiosity about what visitors are interested in viewing and purchasing…
When I first set up my personal websites a few years ago, one of the first things I did was to find tools to help me track visitors….I wanted to know who visited, where they came from, how long they stayed, and what exactly they were looking at…
For example….did my first page hold their interest…did it encourage them to look further…was the site easy to navigate?….did the style work? Was it too busy or too plain….what about fonts, styles, colours….my brain was buzzing….
Then I found that there was a wealth of information and tools to help me determine exactly what worked and what didn’t….
Since then I have redone my website many times, (I’m in the process of redesigning it, so it can’t be seen right now), but I also realized that …(for my tips on this process, see “Is Your Profile Page Attracting Viewers” and "Who Is Your Audience")..
You already know by looking at the top of your “manage works” page how many visitors you have, but do you know how many visit daily, how long they stay, where they’re from and so on?…
Here are some of the tools available on the Internet for your RB gallery or website, including two that I constantly use…quotes are from each website..
- Feedjit…From their website…"Feedjit lets you see friends and visitors as they arrive on your blog or website. Know when your best friends read about your latest adventure….(see it at work on my Profile page)…
Be alerted when your most important clients view your latest product offering.
Feedjit lets you know, right now, who is visiting your site.
Simply add the Live Traffic Feed and instantly start seeing who is visiting your site as they arrive…note: there is an annual fee for this service……
- Google Analytics… "Google Analytics is the enterprise-class web analytics solution, that gives you rich insights into your website traffic, and marketing effectiveness.
Powerful, flexible and easy-to-use features let you see and analyze your traffic data in an entirely new way.
With Google Analytics, you’re more prepared to write better-targeted ads, strengthen your marketing initiatives and create higher converting websites.
Redbubble provides us with Google Analytics right here on our account page to help analyze visitors to our RB galleries as well as provide us with other valuable information..
- Yslow…."YSlow analyzes web pages and suggests ways to improve their performance based on a set of rules for high performance web pages.
YSlow is a Firefox add-on integrated with the Firebug web development tool.
YSlow grades web page based on one of three predefined ruleset or a user-defined ruleset. It offers suggestions for improving the page’s performance, summarizes the page’s components, displays statistics about the page, and provides tools for performance analysis, including Smush.it and JSLint..
- Click Density…find out where in your portfolio visitors are clicking more than usual..
- Pagealizer…."Pagealizer helps increase landing page conversion by showing relevant usage data and suggesting page design and landing page optimization.
It shows in great detail how long people visit a page, bounce rate, how far visitors scroll down a page, and where visitors clicked..
Note: some of these services require fees at either a basic or premium level…
I use Google analytics and Feedjit for my Redbubble gallery, but do check them all to see which you find most helpful for your particular situation..
P.S. Do you use any of these services? If so, which ones and do you find them effective?….
If not, would you add any of these services to your marketing plan? Let us know your views….
