Colour has always been notable in your work. Very lovely Janis.

  • Since I am limited to two minutes, I am trying to pack as much info as I can into the clip with the understand that people listening will already have a basic knowledge of how to paint…I will in future do a few more basic clips for complete novices…

I can’t seem to get the link, Janis.

It says “This content is currently unavailable”. Am I clicking in too late?

  • Hmm…it’s open to the public…I will check it out and get back to you..

  • Try the link again Frannie…my FB page is so private that maybe you could not get in as a non member of FB…

    Sounds like it’s fascinating, Janis!

I can’t see it, though. (Just public to Facebook, I guess?)

  • You have to click the link which will take you to face book…everyone should be able to see it as it’s open to the public…let me know if you still have a problem…

    No…here’s what I see posted:

    “This content is currently unavailable
The page you requested cannot be displayed right now. It may be temporarily unavailable, the link you clicked on may have expired, or you may not have permission to view this page.
    Sign Up for Facebook”

So apparently it’s public for those who belong to Facebook.
    Thank you, though.
    I’m sure it’s super!
    :)

  • Oh that’s too bad…I thought you were a member of FB…weren’t you at one time or am I mistaken?

Oh…yes, I’ve been there. I’ve tried several times with Facebook. But it’s just not someplace I want to be, to put time into. I recently started a Google+ page which is much easier to use and, I hope, maintain. There are also a number of very active art/design communities on Google+. Because I’m posting only links to my new work (and info on other sites) along with my short-form “blog type” commentary, I’m keeping it fully visible.

  • I have a Google + account with nothing in it…when I opened it I stocked it with art, but recently they changed their terms of service to state that they own everything posted there, so I emptied it of all my art…

    Ahh. Too bad.

Yes…that’s why I’m posting links only. And some info, too, of course.
Unless they own the link, I don’t think that’s a problem. Or is it? Hmmm.
Well, I haven’t posted much yet so there’s time to check into it.
    :)

  • Yes do read the Terms of Service very carefully….another issue I have is I did not want them so easily picked up…of course I want people to find me but I also want to keep the level of infringements down..
I have changed my titles so they don’t reflect categories of work any more..in the past using key words in the titles meant they were easily picked up by Google search engines, and now I am getting a lot of infringements of my work…with my new way and gradually retitling earlier images, the level has dropped off quite a bit..

My name is tough to find. There are thousands of “Robin King’s” and many seem to be artists. I fall to the bottom. And you’d have to see my titles to know why I’m not too worried there. The work that I’ve found to be “misappropriated” was from a couple of years ago when I did pretty things, sweet things, etc. and was active in groups here. I’ve stopped that. A few more recent ones have appeared in odd places but that was because I put them in one of my blogs (hundreds of followers), a mistake I’ll never make again. Still, it’s possible that doing the Goggle+ thing is a mistake. I’m giving it a try but will keep an eye out for trouble. Thank you, Janis!

  • You’re welcome..I am an easy find…there are only two people with my name in the entire world and the other one is a relative of my husbands…anyway as long as I keep off words like trees and flowers, winter etc. in my titles, the infringements are not too bad..of course I’m not including Pinterest here…they are in a separate category entirely…
