“Beautyberry” is part of the Winter collection…”Callicarpa bodinieri var. giraldii, Beautyberry is a gorgeous shrub that can grow to 10 ft. tall…it’s has lovely flowers in late summer, but in the autumn incredible jewel like amethyst coloured berries appear, that stay on till winter finally sets in…I plant lots of dfferent shrubs with berries in my garden so there is always a show even when the all the leaves are gone..
I added touches of frost to the leaves, which often happens in late fall

    Oh gosh Janis, I just love this color palette! I will have to look for this shrub because I am always hoping to find stuff that shows color as the fall season progresses intot winter! A really lovely composition! Wonderful frosty touch!

    It also comes in a shorter variety…I don’t know if it will survive in your zone though..it is hardy from zone 5 to 8, so it depends on where you live…the berries can go to midwinter depending on weather…I’m glad you like the painting…thanks so much…
    Another berry I have which is really stunning is porcelain vine…I have it in my writing pages..there are photos from my garden in fall there that I posted a couple of weeks ago…....
