By negative painting do you mean you define the pears by painting the space around it? I like this effect :D

Thank you so much Mui-Ling…the negative spaces in a painting are of equal value to the positive ones and the same attention should be paid to both…occcasionally I pour paint on a surface and paint only the negative areas, as I did here…it is a good exercise to see whether you have been devoting equal attention to both in all your work…

Also when you paint lace, you paint only what is not there..the holes…

What a striking combination lace and pears! Such a unique perspective. I love this negative space concept and the effect is wonderful! Love the colors you have chosen and the free tumbling effect of the pears as if they are tumbling slowly through the air behind in front of a lace curtains!
