When this painting was finished, I could not help but think of Stevenson’s “Katharine” and her “elfin” face…this delicate “quiet and cool” beauty seems to “mirror” his “trembling face, hovering between smiles and tears”..

One of the most attractive ladies to date. What I thought was so cool is when I read the last line of the poem, I looked over to the image and really noticed the reflected blue on her forehead. Very cool Janis.

I did not think of it until after I finished…I had actually written a poem for it before I started the painting, but when I looked at her face at the end, I knew it was not right for her…the Stevenson poem fits her like a glove…thank you so much Jim…
