Sunrise it could also be…this series is all about how I feel when listening to the music and what images it conjures up…I start with no preconcieved plan and just start painting, using colours that express what I see in my minds eye…...each time the word softly reoccurs….

You definitely understand color combination Janis! It is one of the things I admire the most about your painting, how you use color to express your view. And I try to see that color composition like you do when photographing! Just a stunning sunset and reflection!

Thank you so much Joanne…I use colour with out even consciously choosing it most of the time…it seems to seep from my brain right through to the brush…this series is all about the emotional reaction to a melody and lyrics, so sometimes it’s not going to approximate anything in real life…it’s going to just reflect mood…they are done in just one “sitting”... I am actually standing, and I stop when I feel the mood has changed…I don’t think or second guess any work in the series…it is what it is…

Yes the music is almost inextricably tied up with the painting, as it was during the process…I am glad you were able to listen…another coming up very soon, but first I have to publish News and Views which will be in a different format from now on…
