Summer Journal /09.. Pg 3..Pizza
This is page 3 of the Summer Journal…as with all my other visual Journals, it will be a record of events, meals, painting experiments, parties, recipes etc…this is a large journal much like the others, and I am looking forward to filling it up with memories…Pg 1 is all about beer, a drink which is beloved in Canada and drunk here all year long, and page 2 was Egg and Chips still in the baking pan, which can go with beer too…page 3 is you guessed it…Pizza…who doesn’t love pizza? this is fresh from the oven, cheese melting over the edge, a bit Napoletana, a bit Americana, with pepperoni and fresh basil..summer’s here and the time is ripe as the saying goes…journal page subjects are casual and unstructured…I don’t fuss or fiddle with the paintings too much and I try to complete each in one sitting, but this one took much longer...

I like mine with chicken and roasted red peppers best of all…eggplant too..but pepperoni is classic North American pizza…so there you have it…btw…I don’t like pineapple on it…it’s a strange anomaly…thanks so much..

fabulous painting of a yummy pizza Janis…we have pizza night every Thursday …I make my own and I lean towards the healthy toppings and hubby likes to have some pepperoni on his….glad it is Thursday here today….

I make my own too, but I only make it a few times a year, to keep me from being bored….I am not fond of the process of cooking, but I do like the results, so I rarerly repeat dishes..I lean toward the Lebanese Pizza, called Lakma Bi Ajeen…with Italian pizza though, I like roasted red peppers and eggplant…no mozzarella…too gluey…we prefer parmesan…

Great work Janis. My wife and I order pizza at least once a month. I love to make them from scratch, but seldom do. And you’re right, if you like pizza the odds are up that you’re a beer drinker as well.

I have been reading that dark chocolate should be eaten every day..just a square or so…over 70% though and not less than that…we buy the 90% which is quite bitter, but is very good…

mine is 70% ..do not think I could go the 90 as I do like some sweetness too….but then again i have not tried it so maybe I should! but I do not stop at a square :-D ….. and never put weight on for some reason..one of the lucky ones.
