End of the Season

Wonderful comment Carla…I wanted to express the end of season as simply as possible…in just a few lines…thank you so much…

That’s what was in my mind when I painted it…a simple expression of the end of the season…like a haiku poem…a few lines says it all…thank you so much Joanne…

I love pushing the envelope with watercolour…I painted it to look like it was a veil or mesh as is mentioned in the poem…in reality it’s on very smooth paper…

I painted so many traditional style autumn paintings while we were going thrrough it last year, that I felt that this time something different was called for…something simple, yet expressive…just a few lines, but with the sense of the veil of the season that’s to come…I’m so glad you like it…thanks so much…

Approaching a new painting is so exciting…I often start with the background textures, as it brings all my creativity into play, then as in this case, weave the other elements through it going back and forth till it’s completed…I’m glad you like it…
