Landscape...The Journey..On The Way To Somewhere..

Thanks so much Amy…because it tells a story, I’m hoping to be able to paint right through to the end of the series without breaking it with other work…hard for me as I get these ideas along the way for other collections, and I find it hard not to stop everything and paint something totally different.. :))

That’s my tropical heritage…I have colour embedded in my brain…though my chinese paintings are all very somber in hue…thank you so much Lorus…

I mix on the painting itself sometimes, and other times I mix on the palette just before I add it to the surface…but it’s the quality of the paint that matters…I use W/N and I find it to be the most saturated…I’m glad you like the series Richie…thank you so much.

I’m so pleased you like it Jim…thank you so much…it’s really a metaphor for life’s journeys, whether as an artist or in any other profession, or just about life itself..on the other hand it could be taken quite literally as two or more people travelling to places unknown…yet each one could be just a painting of a semi-abstract landscape…when I start to paint each one I’m not sure where the next stage will be until it’s done, which is really like life, when you think of it…but maybe it is buried in my subconscious somewhere… I’m excited to see where the next one will be, just as if I’m travelling there myself… :)) who knows? maybe I am…
