With the last stroke of the brush on these peaches/nectarines, I pictured Elizabeth Bennet, when towards the end of this wonderful book, she was sitting in Mr. Darcy’s house, being entertained by his sister, and in agony lest he should come in and find her there…by this time she is well aware that she is in love with him.....
