A pear called Rosemarie….who knew? I took a lot of liberties with the colour, which I deepened considerably. But you knew that I was not a botanical or photorealistic painter, didn’t you?
The background landscape is a frozen pink, with iceberg shapes, glassy slopes, and dark furrows. It’s a slippery, slithery land of pink and gold, and it’s a cool, juicy pear that emerges from it’s depths.

That’s a very lovely compliment to this work Karin…the Gallery collection takes a long time to paint…each line of the background emerged as the painting evolved, along with the colours…each painting is totally different from all the others…
