“Home” is part of the Gallery Collection from my website “The Journey”...original is also for sale…

Acrylic on Canvas…Three Rosemarie pears on a Fantasy Landscape background..

When this painting was finished, looking at it made me think of Sunday drives in the country…do you remember them?
Some of the best experiences of childhood? Sitting in the back of the car, as the countryside rolled by, playing I Spy,....the telltale scents of the farms as we passed by
.

We always knew which were the sheep farms and when we were about to reach the sugar refinery. Then came the salty tang of the sea, and we knew we were nearing Manzanilla Beach. There’s the little shack on the hill!...it mean’t we were getting closer…..then came the sound of the sea….unmistakeable…that restless heaving of the waves, beating on the shore. One more corner and there it was.....

The Beatles… Two of us

Two of us riding nowhere
Spending someone’s
Hard earned pay
You and me Sunday driving
Not arriving
On our way back home
We’re on our way home
We’re on our way home
We’re going home

Here are two others in the Series

The White Abate

Rosie at the Gala

Janis, this is so gorgeous, another merging of two kind of art works, very ceatively.

  • Janis Zroback replied

Thank you Rachel…by now you’ve seen that this is something I do very often…I think the background can be a painting in it’s own right, not just a backdrop for the subject matter…in fact you can separate the two quite easily sometimes…
