The Trees-The Terrace Floor

The Trees-The Terrace Floor

The Terrace Floor is part of the Series “The Trees”...

Leaves pressed into the stone, broken twigs, moss, detritus of stains that have remained over the winter, imprinted forever by feet walking over them…small creatures living in the shelter of the leaves….nature’s own art work that changes every year…this is my interpretation of the relics of the seasons.

Watercolour and Acrylic on Board…..

Fall, leaves, fall; die, flowers, away;
Lengthen night and shorten day;
Every leaf speaks bliss to me
Fluttering from the autumn tree.
I shall smile when wreaths of snow
Blossom where the rose should grow;
I shall sing when night’s decay
Ushers in a drearier day

    Fall is the best season for colors, in my opinion, and you’ve captured them here. Exquisite, and as Van Snug said above, a classic.

    GREAT GREAT GREAT! My eye keeps searching the image, finding different forms in the lines and in my imagination. A favorite for sure. I haven’t uploaded much of my magazine collage here, but this is exactly what I go for when I make them. I dig your style.

  • Janis Zroback replied

    Thanks again…I have done several of these and plan to do more, but they will have different titles…if you search closely in the ones I have here, you will find lots of things including various insects, imbedded in the leaves.
