Painting is my passion…..

I paint in many different styles and feature a myriad of subject matter, which I show as individual collections….
I am inspired by the world around me and love interpreting it in brilliant colours, often influenced by books I’ve read, including famous authors and poets from the past…
Sometimes I am moved to write short stories and poems to better illustrate my point of view, but in fact the works can stand entirely on their own

Over the years, I have taught art at the college level and privately in the studio, and I have been a frequent contributor to Canada’s premier design and art magazines.
My television appearances include several popular decorating shows, my work has been featured in numerous publications, and can also be found in many private homes around the city
.

As you view my work, I hope that you will find something that resonates with you

Has the trend towards entitlement run amok? / This was a topic in one of my LinkedIn groups and I thought I might get your take on it… / On LinkedIn the title was “Words Fail Me” but I am certainly not at a loss for words..how about yo…

The Way Leads On

Landscape…Evensong / by © Janis Zroback / “Friend, I have lost the way. / The way leads on. / Is there another way? / The way is one. / I must retrace the track. / It’s lost and gone / Back, I must travel back! / None goes there, none / Then I’ll make here my place, / The road runs on, / Stand still and set my face, / The road leaps on, / Stay here, for ever stay. / None s…
