Yes it came again this morning…just an hour or so before I woke…....it does that,
it sits and waits…..it judges when I am most vulnerable…...then Pounces…..!! as it did this morning…......I felt the steely teeth creep up….....then the gnawing ….. in seconds deep to the bone…..and in those seconds the body is paralysed into immobility….
the mind Screams..but can make no sound…......you cant call for help because there is no one to help and I think this ‘thing’ knows that…......so you clench your teeth…..hard…....your eyes closed so tight not a glimmer of light penetrates…...and you wait..because thats all you can do…wait…...until it has gnawed itself out…untill it is sated….and ready to leave you alone….and you are left beaten to a pulp….....then and only then do you feel a tear make its way out of your eyelids…......relax….cant do that…...it might come back…......move the body…..noooo to painful….....but I need to get up…......and I know when I do I shall probably fall because the Pain is still there,
the muscle shredded…....and every nerve ending raw …....and the body cries out for release…........I gently and ohh so slowly turn easing my body inch by inch onto my side….......gently ….steady…....dont move …...even a toe….....try to get the breathing back under control…......slowly….. try to relax one muscle at a time…........bit by bit…...
gently ease the leg…bend the knee just a little….....and ohh the pain….....
move the pillow so that you can at least rest your head…......thats it…....slowly….
ohh God ….WHY…..WHY…WHY didn;t I take the pill last night..if I had the beast would have been kept at bay….......and I could have wakened this nmorning .without all this terror…all this pain…......because I know right now it will take a couple of days
before I will forget this episode ..before I can use my leg again without searing pain drilling into me…....how long did it last this time 3 -4 hours…..I look at the clock…....cant be right…....30 min…..just 30 short minutes ago it seems like an eternity ago that the cramp hit my calf muscle and took me into the land of terror….
I wont forget to take my tablet tonight…i may even hang them around my neck and swallow them without water…anything ANYTHING to keep that Cramp away…...................................................................................

Oh I hate when that happens. Usually at night after rigerous exercise. Dehydration I think. It’s always painful and scary though!!!

ohhh YESSSS…lol and will come when hot weather makes us sweat..and so body Salt is depleted…....QUIMBASOL takes away…

God 12 years of ballet cramps! ...... sheer bloody agony all class long! And not to mention the horrors of waking up at 5am in a flimsy tent in the middle of the bush in excruciating agony as your legs remind you why you usually don’t hike 20 miles with a pack on your back in the winter rain!
You have reminded me why I dance Grandad’s shuffle some mornings!

WHY do we do this to ourselves…...for me all it took was to swallow a very toxic tasting pill..lol and I thought..leave it till the morning..!!!!!!

I used to play a lot of golf a few years back fatherhood got in the way of that (but no complaints i have been blessed with a beautiful daughter) but any way i used to play 36 hole tournaments thats 36 holes or 2 rounds in one day and can understand ur pain after suffering cramp in both legs at the same time on many occasions

OMG….ONE leg is bad enough…..but both at the same time…..OHHHHH..!!!! .......I would be in bed for a MONTH…......I am just grateful it wasn’t in the leg I just had the scaffolding removed from…....thank for stopping by….

I am safe..lol Sam picked me up another bottle from the chemist today
along with a little pill bottle that is on a chain around my neck…lol
it will never again be out of my reach…lol so RELAX….lolol Sweet one…...

Hi Hilary wish you had been here then you could have stopped them…lol but QUINBASOL does it….it is a Quinine derivative ....I get these cramps as left overs from Malaria I had many years ago….. not so often now thank God…lolol Thank you for your comfort…

Oh Pagly – I so know how you describe such pain, day after day night after night this is me just not with cramp….I can’t even lie in one position any more for i stiffen up so very quickly … on bad mornings I sit crutch in one hand and bed bar in other so I can launch upwards, before my medication I would literally hand walk the wardrobe doors or walls to straighten up…those memories never leave you,nightly I get into bed scared of relaxing because I know my spine needs drop back through like cogs ratcheting each painful notch before i can rest, and so I wait for the pain….oh yes, I do so understand—hugs xx
