The Giant Rabbit.

Deep from within the night dark woods a giant rabbit made his way to a nearby farm. The giant rabbit loved and relished the farm people simply because he had seen them going about their farming business, and liked how they treated the land he lived on. So making himself comfortable he waited happily nestling at the side of the farm dreaming of how much he like the farmer inside. As he waited like a guardian lion filling his head with dreams and smells of baking bread, a sly fox crept from within the woods, and stole his way towards the chicken coop. The fox a cunning creature thought to himself if he kills the chickens the noise would draw attention to his whereabouts. So he takes a cart near the chicken coop door, and begins to fill it with the warm fresh chicken eggs. The giant rabbit sitting out front unaware of the fox’s devious endeavours, happily dreams away his Virgil, unaware now of the crows that have descended to the yard who begin to eat the seeds left for the chickens. The crows find it funny that the rabbit can’t see them, and chuckle to each other as they merrily peck away at the seed. Old cunning fox manages to fill his cart with eggs, and fastens it to his back with a rope, then silently pulls it from the chicken coop. The farmer’s dog and horse somehow sense something is going on, and decide to come out front to sleep where they can be easily woken from intruders. They cannot see the giant rabbit as his size disguises the fact that he is even there, and the dark crows pecking away are invisible in the night. The sly cunning fox unaware of anything other than his greed slowly drags his cart down past the farm being careful not to spill any of the eggs. But suddenly the farm cat who had gingerly sneaked out in the moonlight see’s the fox dragging the cart of eggs away, so lets out an almighty ear piercing scream that wakes up the rabbit, horse and dog and startles the crows. They all stare at the fox who is caught red handed with the eggs, then they all stare at the giant rabbit who shouts from the top of his voice, ‘Okay! Enough is enough, this can’t go on. We all know the farmer tries his best with us animals, his land and crops is special to him, so cunning fox why don’t you just put those eggs back from where you took them’. The horse, dog, crows, cat and cow are all struck speechless and cannot move from fright of hearing the giant rabbit’s bellows. The fox embarrassed and also troubled slightly at the sight and sound of the giant rabbit wished he was somewhere else, and thought to himself he better obey the rabbit’s wishes as he would be in serious trouble. So he sheepishly drags the cart of eggs back to the chicken coop, and places them back from where he had taken them earlier. He feels cowardly ashamed to go back out and confront the other waiting animals, so he sneaks his way out through the back window. The horse and dog thought, well no need for us to wait here on guard with a giant rabbit like this out front. So they go back to their usual sleeping places, to nestle down for the rest of the night. The cat now happy that the nights events had turned out fine, returns purring his way to his cosy warm bed, leaving the bickering crows to finish off the rest of the farmers seed.

Cool story, I’d love if those other bastards were caught in the same manner leaving the middle east with the oil, heroin, sacred artifacts and who knows what else.
Roughly how big is the rabbit by the way? Bigger than a barn?

Your animal friends always find a way to make peace or at least solve the atavistic differences; and the large one uses power wisely.
There: now I can say ‘what a lovely story’!
