She did not fully understand him or know him yet. She needed time.
They walked along the edge of the shoreline with the tide scaresly touching their bare feet. The ocean breeze was blowing, giving her a chill. He recognized it and placed his arm around her and pulled her closer to him.
She smiled.
She wanted so much to know his mind. Did he not want her to be cold or was he hoping for an excuse to caress her and pull her next to him? Was he being a thoughtful gentleman or a hopeful lover?
The setting sun on the ocean told them that it would soon be getting dark. The fire on the water from the reflection of the sun going down only added fuel to her own fire that was building inside her. She felt him give her body a light and tender squeeze that gave her shivers. He wants me closer, she thought. Or is he only being playful in his kind and friendly manner?
He stopped walking.
Together they stood alone in almost complete silence. The sound of the tides and a few small crashing waves were the music that filled the air around them. Slowly he took her hand and in a smooth motion turned her body to face him. But she would not look at him. She did not want to give her thoughts away and continued to look thoughtfully down at their feet watching but not really noticing as their toes sank into the sand.
He placed his hand softly on the side of her neck then slowly he touched her chin. She could feel him looking at her. He lifted her chin up to face him. She was looking up at him.
Can he read my face, my thoughts? He is moving closer. Her heart started to beat faster. Can he sense it?
“Only kiss me if you mean it,” she whispered and lowered her head again giving him permission to let her go.
She closed her eyes afraid to see. The world seemed to stop. She could not hear his breath. There was no sound of crashing tides. Was she in a void? She feared that he left her standing there alone and she remembered her words … only kiss me if you mean it.
Only kiss me if you mean it … She felt her head being lifted again and the sweetness of his warm and passionate mouth on hers.

For a moment … so did she! But the fairytale at last!!! She has always been HOPEFUL. Now if I could find a man like that … hmmm .. maybe at the pub whilst our “partners” are fixing up our cottage …lol

This has to be one of the most amazing pieces of writing I have read for a long time. The visual imagery was divine, I could see it playing in my head. I could feel the emotion, just as it was myself and my boyfriend, I could feel his touch, hear her thoughts.. WOW!
