Benjamin J. Padgett is a photographer residing in Las Vegas, Nevada. He specializes in both color and black & white artistic photographs. Locations portrayed in Benjamin’s photographs include waterfalls and fall foliage in the Great Smoky Mountains, Art Deco architecture in South Beach, and the beaches of the U.S. Virgin Islands.

Of particular focus has been the architecture and ironwork in historic Charleston, South Carolina. The neon lights of Las Vegas also provide continual subject matter, and Benjamin is also an avid photographer of live performances, especially those by blues musicians and Native American dancers.

Benjamin’s latest concentration is on capturing images of majestic landscapes such as the Grand Canyon, Zion National Park, Death Valley, Red Rock Canyon, and the awe inspiring Yosemite National Park with waterfalls taller than all buildings in the world. Look for many new and exciting compositions to be added to Majestic Exposures on an on-going basis.

The most influential and inspirational photographers for Benjamin are Ansel Adams, Ron Rocz, Edward Weston and Henri Cartier-Bresson. Other favorite photographers include, Mark Seliger, David LaChappelle, and Ellen von Unwerth. Other visual artists that are very inspiring to Benjamin include David Behrens, Eva Carter, John Doyle, and Dale Chihuly.

Several of Benjamin’s photos were published in Charleston, South Carolina and the Lowcountry: A Photographic Portrait (2002, Twin Lights Publishers, Inc. and Yourtown Books).

In addition to practicing photography, Benjamin is a graduate of the civil engineering program at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte and is a licensed engineer in both South Carolina and Nevada.
