South Australian photographer and image manipulator who specialises in rural night imagery.
I’m particularly attracted to photographing oceanic coastline in moonlight and framing our Milky way Galaxy with terrestrial landforms and objects such as the old homestead ruins that are littered throughout the South Australian countryside. I have grown to love photographically documenting the decay of isolated household facades and set them amongst change more timeless and ethereal.

Your eye for composition is something I would like to learn from U, if U R willing?

  • Great compliment – don’t know if I can teach you much thou – so much of your urban shots have superb compositiion. And don’t really have any formal rules in my thinking re composition (except look for frame within the shot and a loose application of the thirds rule). I think a great approach to a rural scene you really like is too take heaps of shots on many different angles and then settle on an angle/composition that you really like and take time to take a calm, non machine gun like shot of it. A lot of deleting but good to help honning on the ‘best’ composition. (or the one that appeals to you most ). In the coutry you can generally do that.
Having said that, yes I’m willing thank you

    Thanks Paul.
I hear you, but when I’m there that seem to go ‘out the window’.
When I’m in urban space, I feel that I am surrounded by frames. In the bush there seem to be a lack of frames.
