The philanthropic efforts to raise $10,000 for SurfAid International from t-shirt sales on the RedBubble community… managed to raise $155 in 2008 and will once again set a new challenge in 2009… stay tuned !!

All Things Poetic, Artistic, Philosophical, Boredom Competitions on the 24/7, Eerie Lighting, Everyday Life and SydneyIt’s done, I started a little project here and it went well… I will try again to reach the magic $10,000 mark again in 2009 in the months of October, November, and December (exactly the same as the 2008 effort)... here is the thankyou email I was sent from SurfAid:

SurfAid is working on programs for lasting change, assisting and guiding the efforts of more than 100,000 residents in 234 scattered villages. These health care and disaster preparedness programs empower the communities to overcome deadly yet very preventable diseases such as malaria, measles, diarrhea and respiratory infections, as well as to improve nutrition, sanitation, access to clean water and hygiene.
Our community development philosophy is about helping people to help themselves. The process is long and tricky, but given time, dedication and skills, it works and can dramatically improve people’s quality of life forever.

The goal for 2009 will once again be $10,000… it will take 1000 sold t-shirts to reach that goal and I will post a journal entry announcing the start of a new and re-energized effort just in time for the Christmas rush.
