Dad, what a smile, by Roger Boreham, got my vote, at The Archibald Prize, 08

We (daughter and I) visited the Art Gallery of N.S.W., today.

Dad, what a smile, by Roger Boreham, got my vote, at The Archibald Prize, 08 belongs to the following groups:

Sydney

Nick Waterlow, by Xu Wang, attracted my attention. As did Dr Joseph Brown, by Hong Fu.
Of course I connected with Simpatico, by Barry McCann. I watch their show and like their interaction. (Turned it off yesterday when they were cutting up fish again.)
Took a close look at The sisters – Celia and Julia, by Zai Kuang, particularly because I have been doing portraits of kids.
The big sleep / At the movies with David Stratton, was another one which was, of course, easy to connect with, after watching the show so often, starting in the SBS days.
You’d think I ought to have known that Gloria Swanson was sitting there, in the background. I used to watch so many movies on t.v.. Less in the cinema.

There weren’t any that I didn’t like at all, although Portrait of Jon Farriss in a Kylie T-shirt, is perhaps not my thing. Or Peter Booth -study in Cuban. Blue Days, black nights and one or two others.
