Some days are diamonds.

The ups and downs. The bad and the good. The stones and the diamonds.
Belle’s line and Donna.

After a very strange few days, on Redbubble, out of the blue a nice thing happened!! Donna found me!

It really made my day, particularly after a strange, unhappy few days here, in this virtual bubble.
I am less likely to have contact with the boys, behind her, in the painting. They’re from Master Rembrandt’s time.
But Donna was sitting there where I captured her, only about 35 years ago.
And 35 years ago was the last time I’d seen her.
..
The painting, like all of all of mine has good memories.
It represents a time when I was thoroughly enjoying my chosen profession. When things were happening. When dancing, painting, singing, with the kids was just good fun!!
In 37 years there have been a few hundred kids who were so nice, such good fun to know.
Doing this painting was such fun because it was in connection with the Rembrandt Competition, run by Radio Netherlands.
It was when I was really starting to enjoys attending Hazelhurst Community Art Centre.
And now it’s the fun of having made contact with the star of the painting.
No! She was not crying, in the painting! :)
..
After some days of stone, but then, playing the accordion for the children and for the residents, who attended the St Nicholas vist to Abel Tasman Village was fun.
Making contact with Donna was such a nice surprise.
Enjoying the play: Belle’s Line, last night was such a good experience.
And, right now, I’m off to the Rembrandt Club, in St Mary’s to play a few more Sinterklaas (St Nicholas) songs.
Yes. Some days not so good. But others just great!

wonderful words/great reunion and so happy for you.

    you are a huge TALENT

    Thank you, Shanghaiwu.
I am in the process, right now, of up-loading pictures, from today’s celebration of Sinterklaas (St Nicholas-) Day, in the Rembrandt Club.
It was yet another almost strange experience. This clubhouse, like a little Dutch-Australian oasis, in an industrial area, was filled to the brim, with white-haired, Dutch-born people.
Thoroughly entertained by performers, of advanced years, almost all not of Dutch background.
I was invited to play the piano accordion for a while, during lunch.
If I have any talent, it’s spread thinly over a number of areas.
I.e., NOT the world’s greatest painter, but I can paint. Not the world’s greatest dancer, but I dance a mean Pride of Erin. Not a great musician but I love playing Bobby Magee.
Thanks so much for the compliment. Today, I needed it!
