My current preoccupation: the illustrations done by George van Raemdonck, for the Dutch translation and 1940 edition of the book that my mother read to me, several times over, when I was (too) young.
Written by Hector Malot. Translated from the French into Dutch by A.D.Hildebrand, brought with me to Australia, in 1956.
Linked to memories of my childhood. My 2005 trip to Paris and Cap d’Agde and a most memorable walk with my daughter, looking for the original books, among the second-hand books, sold by the Seine, by such interesting people.
More remi paintings, here!
