There’s talk of another Maroubra Bay High School ex-students reunion!
In 2009, it will be 50 years, since the school was opened. MORE
In 1963 a reunion was held, in the Seals Club, Maroubra Beach. 
1959-1963

*The chairperson of the committee which organised the 2003 reunion has put forward some excellent ideas for planning a 2009 reunion.

Beautiful report, Ozcloggie. They all seem very happy to catch up again.
Jeffrey was best friend, when we were still in Avoca Street, Randwick, as South Sydney Boys Junior High. Best friend, at Maroubra Bay High School, Terry Turner, actually met up with Jeffrey, while both were visiting mothers, in a nursing home. Terry was not in this first class photo, at Maroubra Bay. Alex was part of our little Dutch-speaking sub-group. We basically mixed with other friends, but we had a Dutch connection.
In the case of Alex, who was from Indonesia, it was through school and we still have email contact.
In the case of Hans and Jan (whom I knew as Jelle), it was through shared experience of living, at first in so-called migrant reception centres, or hostels, our parents, in both cases, being friends.
Have met up with Jan and with Hans in recent years.
Hoping they’ll all be at the 2009 Reunion, if this can become a reality.
Hans and I were at the 2003 reunion. As was his sister, all the way, from the Netherlands.
I hope that, if and when the 2009 reunion takes place, I can meet up with the others!!

I’ve had email contact with Roland (who tried to help me stop the nail-biting habit, in 1957, through hypnotism) but the timing was bad. I’d been sent an email attachment that was too big, from the Netherlands, and, until my son could fix it for me, my only contact – email – with Roland (and his daughter) was lost!
P.S.. ……as well as meet up with Hans and Monica, of course!! :)
That one (2003) was SO enjoyable. This recent one, March 7th, 2009, was a huge success (too)!! (And produced some nice photos of Hans, Monica and me, among many others!!
