“Today Crescent Head is noted as one of the finest surfing locations on the New South Wales coast. The headland has helped to produce almost unique surfing conditions which have attracted such greats as Midge Farrelly and Nat Young.”
I was there again, as an assessor, for Keep Australia Beautiful, the Clean Beach Challenge, 2007.
I was looking at aspects like signage, access, amenities, safety, litter prevention.
Crescent Head was the first beach I ever came to, on the mid north coast of New South Wales, in the seventies.
Now I stayed overnight, not in my station wagon, beside the tent of friends, as I did in the 70s, but in an apartment owned by Tony and Lynne Anderson.
Hopefully, by the time the summer season really gets going, the disquiet regarding the creek will have passed.
It was school holidays and there were still a lot of tourists there, in spite of any concerns regarding the creek.
