The bad news:
Front tooth broke off, Saturday, lunchtime, biting into a cheese sandwich. Should have been driving up to Port Macquarie on Sunday to assess the beaches for the Keep Australia Beautiful Clean Beach Challenge on Monday.
But it involves meeting people and very likely, having the photo in the local paper, etc.. Without the front tooth I look rediculous.
I rang the people in Port Macquarie. Arranged to be there, next Saturday, on my way home, back to Sydney.
Dentist doesn’t work on the weekend.
Rang first thing this morning. Great! I’d be seen to at 9:30! Jumped in the car. No go. Turns out the battery WAS 3 years old.
Rang the dentist. Now I can see him at 2 p.m.. So here I am, packed and ready to travel. Should get to Crescent head, early evening.
The good news.
T-shirt arrived. A second one is being sent to Crescent Head and that’s good too. Assessing beaches involves a lot of walking on them and beside them to see what’s being done to make them as user-friendly, clean, safe and weed-free as possible. By Thursday, putting on the second shirt may be a good idea.
The two people, standing on the beach, on my shirt, showed me some of these particular beaches, two years ago. A different person will be showing me around there, this time.
