Ozcloggie (1943) lives in Sydney. He was born in Gouda and in the ‘50s, in the previous century, migrated, together with his parents, to Australia. Ozcloggie was a teacher, he stopped working a few years ago, to be able to look after his parents.His mother has since passed away, but caring for his father has the effect that he cannot leave home very often.
His weapon in the struggle against loneliness and to have friends: the internet.”
Don’t feel too sorry for me. The above seems a bit dramatic.
Throughout the book, mixed in with examples from other portraits,
are further explanations, going into details about friendships,
here, in Sydney, away from the internet.
Someone (won’t tell you it was FlyBoy )wrote privately about whether there are differences in the usage of the word: friends in Australia and in The Netherlands. I reckon there are (Only my opinion.) .
Will write about this next and must then get on with getting ready to visit the mid-north coast, from tomorrow.
