With arms wide spread she beckons us to her … I hide behind the trees and watch the others with glazed eyes stumble in her direction … I tried to warn them .. I had uneasy feeling when the summons came that hazy summer afternoon … they laughed at me and I moved back into the forest to hide .. they forgot about me … I became unimportant …

I watched from a distance as they prepared for her visit .. foolish men … they thought she came for love … her sweet soft voice caressing their ears and blinding their eyes … and now I watch as they move into her arms one by one each waiting their turn …

I will miss them but they were foolish thinking it was love that called them …

the ground is red with their blood and she turns to return whence she came from … I turn and head back into the deep green of the forest …

Yes the Fairyland landscape pulled me in… I love both of these, This one definitely seems as if a wizard of sorts is beckoning or even perhaps shewing the visitor away.

  • I’m not sure she’s a fairy spirit … much more malevolent then the fairies ever were said to be … she may be a shape shifter lulling the men to their deaths to feed her hunger .. what she really looks like is unknown .. only the foolish run to her arms … did you read the story in the description?

I really love the story owlspook and that just brings this image to life. I’m with you hiding in the woods trying to keep out of her way thought?

  • thanks Sylvia (smile) I think it is only foolish people who confuse lust with love that she’ll destroy … I believe we are safe (smile)

awe, you’re so welcome! the texture of this piece, and the story hooked me:)

  • that’s cool (big smile)

as for texture … have a favorite I use in Gimp .. it’s called “clothify” … it’s very handy to use to fix some pixelation due to size increases (along with using brightness/contrast) … in the case of my older fractal work I have lost many of the originals and have had to scan them back onto my hard drive – the texturing does help in that case to cover up a lot of little problems (grin) …. and finally I really like texture … smooth is nice I use it too but texture gives the work a tactile aspect … if one could touch the work one can feel the bumps (grin) … sadly in a lot of my work RB’s previews don’t show the texture as it is in the original .. oh well ….

as for story … I’m really enjoying using my imagination to create what I call mini-stories … a few sentences to a few paragraphs … a tease … sometimes I can see a whole story developing and have broadened it over several images …. other times that’s all I’ve seen … the fun thing is I don’t have to completely write it … l can leave the before and after to those who watch my work (grin) …

again thank you for the feature .. I love doing symmetrical work … most has been in patterns and kaleidos … however I haven’t gotten around to doing a lot of 2-limbed mirror images yet .. regardless I love the group and what other members are doing! it’s inspirational and interesting (big smile)
