I used the flame fractal program called Apophysis (it’s free), played around with it,... not hard .. so much to explore .. found some good sites for info (lot more than this) Arcane Fractals , Apophysis Wikispaces and a resources page to get ya going … it’s one of those programs where it’s easy but not (grin) ... just play with it .. have fun .. and see what comes up and how you can change it to make it your own (big smile) ... it’s a fun program to play with however not every flame you create (or me in fact) turns out to look great … most will end in the trash even before you render them .. it’s time consuming but fun yet it can be frustrating … but when you find one you really like .. (big smile) ...

as for how of this image … found and tweaked with a flame I found that looked somewhat like a bear’s head .. then I went looking through a lot of mutations of that head and found one that looked like the bear claws .. tweaked around with that image until I liked what I had and then rended both images .. hours later I opened (one at a time) the two images up in Gimp and removed a lot of messy pixels (I call it cleaning up the copy), adjusted for brightness/contrast, and saved it … then I opened a new file copying and pasting in the cleaned up images … took a lot of time to do but you can see the result … that about what I did…

mostly I go through a lot of flames to find one I think might work, .. mostly luck to find a good starting one … and then a lot of work (most of the time) to get it done .. actually some of it is work but mostly fun (big smile) .. so there does that answer your question (big smile) ..
